Description:

  • 2009 Chinese Government Scholarship-Degree Study in Provinces & Autonomous Region Program has been started. The School of International Studies of Yunnan University, under the program-related requirements, began to enroll the foreign students from GMS countries.

  • Master’s Degree Students 2-3 academic years

  • Doctor’s Degree Students 3-4 academic years

  • For Doctor’s Degree candidates: International Relations, World History, World Nationalities and Nationality Issues Studies

  • For Master’s Degree candidates: International Relations, International Politics, World Economy, World History, World Nationalities and Nationality Issues Studies

 

Eligibility and Restrictions:

  • Applicants must be: students from Greater Mekong Subregion countries to apply this scholarship program (incuding Myanmar)

Required Attachments:

  • Application Form for Chinese Government Scholarship (printed by CSC), one original and one photocopy, in Chinese or in English.
  • Yunnan University Application Form For International Admission, Postgraduate Students
  • Highest diploma (notarized photocopy). If applicants are university students or already employed, they should also provide documents of being university students or on-post employees. Documents in languages other than Chinese or English must be attached with translations in Chinese or English.
  • A study or research plan in Chinese or in English (no less than 200 words for undergraduates, no less than 400 words for scholars, no less than 500 words for postgraduates).
  • Band Six or above certificate of HSK examination.
  • A copy of the applicant’s passport with photo page
  • Applicants overseas for master or doctoral degree studies and senior scholars must submit two letters of recommendation in Chinese or English by professors or associate professors.
  • Photocopy of Foreigner Physical Examination Form (printed by Chinese quarantine authority and only for those whose period of studies in China lasts up to six months) filled in English. The medical examinations must cover all the items listed in the Foreigner Physical Examination Form. Incomplete records or those without the signature of the attending physician, official stamp of the hospital or a sealed photograph of the applicants are invalid. The medical examination results will be valid for 6 months. All applicants are kindly requested to take this factor into consideration while determining the time to take the medical examination.
  • Applicants under the age of 18 should submit the legal documents of their legal guardians in China.
  • If applications apply for the scholarship without HSK record, they should take 1-or-2 year Chinese language training course before major studies. In the language training period, the students must pass the entrance examination or relevant courses required so that to continue their major studies.
