Course description

  • The Bachelor of Arts Major in Communication Arts program of Miriam College aims to develop among students a comprehensive understanding of the nature, basic theories, and applications of communications.
  • The curriculum is intended to train students in the design and production of multi-media products. Using a generalist approach, it enables the students to gain knowledge and skills for varied channels like print, radio, television, theater and film. It provides experiences on the dynamics of interpersonal and group communications, public relations, advertising, marketing, and information technology.
  • In addition, the student is prepared for entry into the practical world of developmental communication where she is expected to contribute meaningfully to community building and social understanding through participative and collaborative undertakings.
  • The course orientation is holistic and the desired graduates are individuals who are effective communicators and practitioners of Miriam College’s core values. The graduates are equally expected to be knowledgeable and ready for exposure in their chosen field, where their skills in communication management, consensus building, multi-media presentations, multi-cultural and community communication can be put to good use.
