Course description
In the BFinprogramme, students will receive training in economic and financial analysis and quantitative tools for good financial decision-making and risk management. The programme will cover aspects of financial markets (such as the stock market), and financial institutions (such as banks and insurance companies), especially in Hong Kong and elsewhere in Asia.
BFin students read 180 credits of courses. In the first year, BFin students are required to read six compulsory courses. In the subsequent years, they take a total of 10 (minimum) to 16 (maximum) courses from those offered by the School of Economics and Finance. Five of these courses are compulsory.
The BEcon&Finprogramme combines the strengths of the BEcon and the BFinprogrammes and is designed to meet the interests of students who are seeking a balanced exposure to both economics and finance. While the BEcon and the BFinprogrammes are more specialised, there is also more room for students to gain exposure to business, social sciences and science subjects.
